The Holiday Season is a joyous time but it also a sad and lonely time for many people as well. As Alumni of foster care, the holidays are bittersweet but, we're not the only ones that need a little Healing through the Holidays.
Hosted by our very own Board Member, Rachel Dolcine (Author, Entrepreneur and Alumni) we welcome you and our Special Guest, Dr. Maya Rockeymoore-Cummings, on 12/19 6PM-9PM for gift-wrapping for Baltimore City foster youth and crafting (wreaths and coasters that you can gift to your friends/family or keep). Come make authentic connections with authentic people.
You don't have to be an Alumni of foster care to attend. All ages are welcome so, bring your family and friends.
We'll have holiday music, light food/refreshments and holiday cheer!
We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Rockeymoore-Cummings and her team for reaching out to us to partner around a Gift Drive for National Center for Children and Families (NCCF), Challengers Independent Living Program and the YES Drop in Center. In honor of her late husband, Congressman Elijah Cummings and their connection to an alumni on their team and part of their family, they wanted to contribute to a group of disconnected young adults and foster youth in congregate care for the holidays but, she also wants to establish an ongoing partnership to ensure their voices, along with those of other young people in Baltimore City, are an active part of the work she is involved in all year long.
We hope to see you soon!
